Callum’s 10-week Beach-Body Bulk-Up

 

A self described “hard gainer“, over 6 years Callum had tried to bulk up using gyms, training with friends and even personal trainers to no avail.

10 weeks before a stag do to Thailand, Callum started training with Bristol Personal Trainer. After implementing all the advice in his bespoke Masterplan and consistently smashing all his workouts and diet plans, Callum managed to pack on over 4.5 kg of lean muscle mass (69.1 to 73.7 kg) in just 10 weeks.

We asked Callum a few questions about his experience:

Could you tell us a bit about your story that first led you to personal training

I had always struggled to put on weight and motivate myself in a gym environment. With my close friends stag do coming up where we were all heading to Thailand and coupled with some close friends family members being severely affected by health issues, I thought the time was now to start looking after myself and get in shape.

 

What were your starting goals?

My goal was to put on as much weight as possible in the 10 weeks, but also to sort out my general lifestyle in regards to diet and exercising.

 

How did training with Bristol Personal Trainer help you achieve your goals?

Ollie kept me on the straight and narrow with regards to the training and also with his knowledge about diet and training plans for my body type, we ended up achieving nearly 5kg of muscle in 10 weeks!

 

In your own words could you explain the training process over the 10 weeks with Bristol Personal trainer?

Firstly I had my assessment with Ollie, where we took lots of measurements and assessed my mobility and general health. After that he took me through a 4 week training plan to get me to a stage where I could do certain excesses safely and with proper form. After completing the first 4 weeks, we had a weigh in and again assessed how much I had achieved over the past 4 weeks, then moving onto a new programme to mix things up and move onto the next 4 week programme. After this was completed we had the final weigh in and assessment where we went through the whole plan and how we had done. Great experience the whole way through.

 

After the ten weeks, are you happy with the results you have achieved?

Absolutely! I have always struggled to put on weight and can honestly say without their help I would never have achieved what I wanted to.

 

What did you like about BPT’s personal training service.

The whole programme! All the exercises, the diet programs in the my Masterplan, the way that they keep you motivated and how genuinely happy they are for your results.

 

How are Bristol Personal Trainer different to your previous trainer(s)?

Mainly how in depth they are. I have had a couple of PT’s beforehand and all they did was push me for an hour and that was that. The continuity with the guys at BPT kept me interested and motivated and they are both really nice guys who want you achieve your goals.

 

Is there anything you feel could be improved?

Nothing, everything went without a hitch, had access to all my plans and progress through an online portal and everything I needed was already taken care of.
